Is Purition low FODMAP?

Yes, Purition can be included as part of a low FODMAP way of eating*, and makes a natural, convenient and nourishing ‘anytime’ meal.

The protein we use in our Original (whey protein) range is in isolate form, which means it has been filtered to remove most of the lactose - making it easier to digest and suitable for those avoiding FODMAPs.

Our Vegan 2.0 range are made with a carefully balanced combination of pea protein, fava bean protein isolate and fava bean protein concentrate.

- Pea protein is considered low FODMAP in moderate amounts.
- Fava bean isolate has had most of the fibre and starch removed, reducing its FODMAP content.
- Fava bean concentrate, however, does retain some FODMAPs.

For this reason, we recommend starting with half a serving (20g) of Vegan 2.0 if you're sensitive or just starting a low FODMAP diet - and building up to a full serving (40g) as tolerated.

*Please note: our Pistachio flavour contains whole pistachios, which are not low FODMAP and should be avoided during the elimination phase.

Our nutritionist wrote a blog post on low FODMAP diets - it's definitely worth a read.
