We're thrilled to announce our collaboration with Cara Shaw, former Purition customer and registered nutritional therapist. Our shared commitment to prioritising real, whole food ingredients has led to an authentic partnership of the best kind. We believe that a 'real food first' approach is essential for simple healthy eating and feeling great.
Together, we're championing the message: embracing real, wholesome nutrition isn't just a trend—it's the best path to lasting wellness.
It's not about perfectionism, in fact that's something that Cara has well and truly left behind in 2023. In Cara's words "It's about prioritising yourself and taking control of the things you can. You can control your well-being, you can make yourself a priority and you can focus on the things that make you happy."
Cara will be appearing across our channels this year in various ways - sharing her knowledge and expertise on all sorts of subjects relating to food, health and nutrition. In order for you to get to get to know her a little more and on a more personal level, we asked her...

What would be your perfect Sunday?
A perfect Sunday would be to wake up later, followed by a swim with the kids, a wholesome Sunday roast in a cosy pub and a long country walk for fresh air. -
What’s your favourite form of exercise?
Without a doubt, weight training. It’s a special me-time where I can zone out from daily stressors and shift my focus on breathing and form. It’s my own form of meditation. -
What’s your favourite book/ cook-book?
My favourite fiction is The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and my favourite cookbook is definitely Ottolenghi Simple. I'm all for the recipes with the least ingredients but still maintaining the wow-factor. -
3 wellness trends you love?
Building muscle. I love lifting weights and resistance training in order to future-proof myself as an old woman and lower my risk of conditions like osteoporosis. Muscle is key for longevity - the research is compelling, and this is one trend that’ll be sticking around for good.
Blue light blocking glasses. My melatonin pathway is affected by some wobbly genes that mean my sleep can easily be disrupted. I like to do everything I can to support melatonin production and I really like to use my glasses if I ever need to look at a screen during the evening hours.
No naked carbs. Anyone who knows me will know that this is one of my top non-negotiables. Pairing any sort of carbohydrate with protein and/or fats is key to stabilising blood sugar and keeping energy levels and brain function tip top. This is not a wellness trend for me anymore, this is my everyday practice. -
Best holiday or holiday destination?
I have so many favourite places. Mexico - for its beautiful weather and beaches, South Africa for incredible food and hospitality but my ultimate special place is New York - for incredible childhood memories (It was also where my hubby proposed).
